Commissions

I'm excited to work with you and can't wait to see what you have in mind! Whether you're a seasoned collector or this is your first time commissioning a piece, the process is simple, and I'm happy to guide you through each step.

My smallest commission size is generally 36x36, though if I have smaller canvases or panels in the studio I'll do my best to accommodate.

We'll begin with what draws you in.  Please choose a painting or two of mine in the style and palette you're hoping for. It's helpful to know what you love about them and, just as important, what you don't. If you'd like the piece to live comfortably with your wall color or fabrics, feel free to send me wall colors and fabric swatches. I'll keep them close at hand while I paint.

My commission fee is 20% of the retail price. Once we've settled on a size, I'll send an invoice for a 50% nonrefundable deposit, which reserves your place on my calendar. My lead time is currently about twelve weeks.

Once your painting is complete, I'll send photographs. Up to two minor color adjustments are included in the commission price. My work is very layered, and too many changes will eventually become noticeable. For any additional minor adjustments, or any larger changes (if possible), there will be an additional 10% fee per change. This is not meant to be a penalty, it is because the additional changes require me to completely rework the painting.

Once you've approved your piece, I offer two shipping options. When it's possible, I like to ship with a mover I've been working with for almost ten years. While this is the more affordable option if your delivery falls along his route, it usually takes around eight week to arrive, although it could take longer. If you're a business, please note that his delivery times don't always fall within regular business hours. If you're not on the mover's route or you have a tighter timeline, we also offer freight shipping, which generally takes around four weeks but is more costly.
